As an ISO company we have developed a management system where quality is constantly checked at various stages. We will not proceed to print until we have a signed proof thus ensuring customers are happy with the version that we will proceed to print and it also provides the final opportunity to rectify any mistakes.
However, mistakes can still occur hence we have developed a Refund Policy.
At KARRA DESIGN & PRINT we strive for perfection. If on receipt of your print consignment you are anything less than delighted with the finished work please advise us straightaway. Your issue will be investigated urgently and quickly resolved.
Where the problem is clearly something that can be attributed to KARRA DESIGN & PRINT we will immediately re-do the job, send out replacement printing, and recover the defective batch. In the event that re-printing is not an option we will instead either recover the defective work and credit you in full or, where appropriate, negotiate a partial credit to compensate for less than perfect but useable goods.
If the print content is different than the PDF proof, we will re-print or refund as appropriate.
Where the cause of the problem cannot solely be attributed to KARRA DESIGN & PRINT we will negotiate an acceptable settlement with you, either crediting the job in part or re-printing at a reduced cost.
Where the problem can be fully attributed to you, KARRA DESIGN & PRINT shall not accept liability in any part.
In the unlikely event that a satisfactory resolution can not be found between us, KARRA DESIGN & PRINT will accept the resolution recommended by a third party arbitrator. The arbitrator being an independent third person accepted by us both.Â
Colour Accuracy
As you cannot see the final product until it is printed, sometimes it may mean that the finished colour is not what you imagined.
The reasons can be:
You are comparing the printed version to the colours you saw on screen You are matching the colours to a laser or inkjet print that you provided Your print proof that you provided was on a BOND paper where as your job is printed on gloss or silk so it would look different.
The colour of your stationery could look slightly different on your letterheads or business cards, folders even brochures as they could have been printed on different paper / card stocks hence the ink absorption will vary and the ink will reflect differently giving a slight colour variation.
If we have done the artwork then we produce calibrated digital proofs for signing off giving you the opportunity to see a very close match to your finished product hence alleviating the colour issue to a large extent.
If you have provided the artwork, although we always provide PDF proofs but if it is colour critical then we suggest that you ask us for a digital proof for signing off and we will match to that colour as close as possible.
You can always ask for the opportunity to approve the job on-press so you only get the colour you expected.Â
What is Karra’s cancellation policy?
All jobs may be cancelled prior to print commencing. As we generally print everything within 24 hours, there will only be a short time to cancel.

Karra Design & Print work hard to ensure all of our work is as the customer requests it to be. Our aim is to produce a perfect end product that will exceed your expectations.
Whatever the work, large or small, simple or complex, our vast range of quality press equipment, from single colour SRA4 to 5 Colour B2, allied to our quality management, means we can always produce optimum solutions and value for money.
When printing, sheets are measured at specific intervals for ink coverage, dot gain and register. Each must remain within closely defined tolerances. Selected sheets are also retained on file.
Please work with us by checking your proof carefully! Proofing is your responsibility on all printing services. You are 100% responsible for the accuracy of your proof.
Karra cannot be held responsible for errors related to colour matching. Due to variations in monitor calibrations, ink, paper, and limitations throughout the printing processes, we cannot guarantee the final product will match the colour/density of your personal printer or monitor. Such variations are considered acceptable.
Karra Design & Print cannot be held liable for failure to meet expected deadlines due to improper file composition or last minute changes requested.
Karra cannot be held responsible for errors in customer supplied digital files including low resolution graphics, photos, improper file format, page layout, compliance with mailing restrictions, missing fonts or corrections not requested in writing.
We are not responsible for any damages or claims incurred by you or your business caused by receiving printed materials which are defective or incomplete or which you receive later than the estimated delivery date.
Karra reserve the right to determine whether a manufacturing error or defect has occurred in your order. If new files are submitted or additional corrections need to be made, additional charges may be applied.

Caring for the Environment is Fundamental to Everything We Do
Karra Design & Print has committed itself to a general policy of minimising the impact of its operations on the environment and will continue to develop good economic, social and environmental practices using, wherever possible, sustainable and renewable resources. We (Partners at Karra Design & Print) recognise the importance of a sound environmental policy for Karra Design & Print and have committed ourselves to a programme of continual review and improvement.
With in the Pre-Press Area
Karra uses a CTP imaging system which does not require films and so saves time and energy to produce a plate, reducing its impact on the environment. CTP systems have been proven to be over 40% more energy efficient than using an imagesetter and platemakeing system.
On-Press
Using the latest Komori press technology to reduce setup to an absolute minimum with our CTP technology makes our makeready times to an absolute minimum, this reduces energy costs, waste paper and reduces ink usage.
Inks
We use vegetable based inks for litho printing rather than mineral based inks and are referred to as "Bio Inks". These are much less damaging to the environment than conventional petroleum based inks they also contain only trace elements of volatile compounds and toxic metals the bulk of the ink is made from sustainable raw materials (generally linseed or soya bean oil). The inks are bio-degradeable. Another environmental benefit is recycling of paper printed with vegetable based inks is far less energy consuming.
Paper
Karra is also on the path of the FSC Chain-of-Custody certification, one of the highest standards for environmental accountability. Then our customers can print fully FSC-certified documents when utlising our 100% recycled, FSC-certified paper stocks.
The Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) is a not-for-profit international organization that promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. FSC is among the most widely recognized forest certification programs. We currently source ALL our paper from FSC certified paper mills and suppliers only.
Listed below are some of the practices that have already been adopted.
1. Waste Management
- Strict procedures are in place for the disposal of waste toners, chemicals, fluorescent tubes and other hazardous waste to ensure that they are disposed of correctly. For example, our ammonia and waste chemicals from the Litho Department are returned to the manufacturers for recycling or disposal.
- Computer printer cartridges are returned to the manufacturers for recycling.
- Good quality "waste", such as the end of paper rolls, off-cuts of Foamboard and card and surplus or obsolete stock, is passed on to various local schools and charities free of charge.
- All paper off-cuts and card board is collected in special skips and collected weekly by Holland Paper for recycling.
- Wooden pallets are collected by Palletways & PaperCo for reuse.
- All used aluminium plates are taken to/or collected by a local merchant for recycling.
2. Energy Policy
- Energy and water consumption levels are continually monitored.
- We are upgrading our premises to improve the insulation and heat conservation levels in our buildings.
- Waste Hippos’ have been installed where appropriate in all branches.
- We are currently investigating solar energy for our heating & lighting.
3. Use of renewable resources
- China tea/coffee mugs and glasses are used throughout the Company rather than disposable items.
- All paper used is produced from sustainable farmed forests and elemental chlorine free or recycled product unless specified by the client.
4. Pollution
- Karra has developed a fantastic relationship with courier companies such as TNT, Palletways, Parcel Force, Royal Mail and smaller courier companies for our same day and next day collection and delivery service hence reducing the impact on environment by NOT having our own company vehicles.
- The Company has a programme of replacing older machinery and equipment with modern, environmentally friendly processes where possible, to minimise the impact on the environment.
5. Health and Safety
- The Company has a policy of providing a healthy and safe environment. This is reinforced with the appropriate accident records, fire policy and risk assessment procedures.
